My Sunday school program currently uses the following curriculum model(s)...

Classroom

The Classroom curriculum model walks through key Old Testament and New Testament Bible stories each year in a two-year cycle.

Lectionary

The Lectionary curriculum model follows the stories in the Revised Common Lectionary. Throughout the three-year cycle, each lesson comes from a Bible story in the Old Testament, a Gospel, or Acts, so the story children hear in Sunday school is the same as in worship.

Rotation

The Rotation curriculum model includes 8 workshop rotation options. In this model, children spend more than one week on a Bible story and visit a different workshop each week in order to experience that same story from a different perspective.

What’s your preferred approach for building biblical literacy?

Teach key Bible stories starting in the fall with the Old Testament and ending with the New Testament in the spring.

Follow the Revised Common Lectionary so that children learn the same story in Sunday school as they hear in worship.

Explore Bible stories over 4–6 weeks using workshops and activity stations. Children learn fewer Bible stories each year and go more in-depth with each story.
